Minecraft creator "Notch" takes to Reddit to argue that a new Minecraft stop-motion short featuring The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening is a fake.

Stop-motion and Minecraft go together like bacon and eggs, which is likely why fans of the block-building beta have been making so many videos. Over the weekend, the crafty builders at MinecraftA2Z added one more epic video to the ongoing library, only to have their credibility questioned by the creator of Minecraft himself, Markus "Notch" Persson.

What makes Notch believe the video is a fraud? Seor Minecraft took to Reddit to explain his reasoning, making mention that the video is too perfect, it would be easier to automate, and it comes off as trying to hard to "appear" real.

Likely aware of any fraudulent claims against their creation, the members of MinecraftA2Z made a "Making of" video detailing their efforts, only to have that video deemed not proof enough by Notch:

A timelapse video of people building it would convince me. The 1,167 screens won't, as I could extract them myself from that [YouTube] video.

The original video -- which lasts more than four minutes and includes the opening movie, the character-naming menu, and re-created gameplay footage up through the moment Link finds his sword -- is quite epic, and we've included it below to see what you all think. It is real, or is Notch wrong in his judgment?

Oh, and before anyone argues that Notch is a dick for crapping on their hard work, he also made sure to... well, not look like a dick:

If you DID do this all legitimately, then I apologize, and I hope you find some pride in having fooled me so bad I openly accuse you of cheating. ;D
