The charming indie point-and-click adventure Machinarium is coming to the WiiWare download service later this year.
A critical darling and considered one of the best indie games of 2009, Amanita Design's Machinarium is a point-and-click adventure set in world of robots and machines. It came out originally for the PC and Mac. It's also available for Linux.
Machinarium is hitting WiiWare via XGen Studios, the Flash game portal and developer of the Wii download service's Defend Your Castle. XGen Project Manager Danny Greig says they're targetting a November or December release and have yet to determine a price.
Machinarium offered a "pirate amnesty" program in August, lowering the price from $20 to $5. The developer estimated that just 5 percent to 15 percent of players actually paid for the game since its 2009 release. Amanita reported on its blog that the amnesty program resulted in nearly 20,000 sales.
