With Alan Wake and Left 4 Dead getting new story chapters added to their narratives next month, we decided it was prime time to quiz our Twitter followers about other games that need DLC storyline extensions. Here's the games they recommended.

We start off this article, as we always do, with the question we posed our GamePro Twitter followers:

New DLC chapters for Alan Wake & L4D due in Oct. Which games' stories would you like continued via DLC? Best answers published on our site.less than a minute ago via webGamePro

The responses we got spanned this entire console generation, with one or two games that may outdate console DLC. We'll start with the current -- and most likely -- candidates named by GamePro followers:

This next batch of games come from a year or two ago, and while some don't yet have sequels, the time may have passed to see continuations of their narratives. Here's the slight less likely suggestions.

We hate to break it to this last bunch, but their suggestions will likely fall on deaf ears, as the titles they've mentioned have likely been abandoned by their respective development teams. Here's the oldest games brought up by our followers:

@GamePro I know it's old, but Grand Theft Auto San Andreas :Pless than a minute ago via webDarren Hobin

@GamePro I'd like to see dead rising 1 DLC to show how frank west got away/survived and met up with chuck Greeneless than a minute ago via EchofonDale sapwell

With every single retail release (even sequels) serving as a big risk for all developers and publishers, DLC can often serve as the best way to continue the story of a popular title. All of the aforementioned games have engrossing stories that fans want to see continued, and given the success of new ventures like the standalone Dead Rising: Case Zero, even older games can get updated if developers can find an audience for it.

Do you agree with the aforementioned games? Are there any additional titles that could use an DLC pack's worth of new story? Sound off in the comment section below or by replying to GamePro on Twitter.
