If you own an Android phone and like building things in Minecraft, Mojang is two days away from blowing the pockets off your pants.

Minecraft + Android = Mandroid Pocket

Minecrafters, save the date. Team Mojang is bringing their cubic phenomenon closer to your fingertips on September 29th when Minecraft "Pocket Edition" becomes available for play on Android devices.

Before now, Minecraft's Pocket Edition was a Sony Ericsson exclusive. Come Thursday, the block-building addiction and outlet for serious geekery and creativity alike will be available to the world's largest App marketplace.

The news comes with a freshly baked video uploaded to Mojang's YouTube channel earlier today. The video details gameplay basics like how to add and delete blocks, adjust the camera, and other touch-screen controls catering specifically to the creative mode on Android devices. Additionally, with Minecraft being brought to Android, the "game's" survival mode, currently found only in the Mac and PC beta, is soon to follow.

No news yet on an iOS release date, but Pocket Gamer has some good news on the topic: Apple fans should be getting the Pocket Edition before the year is through.

Merci Pocket Gamer
