You may not be able to actually check in to a hotel with the new Facebook app released by buuteeq Tuesday — other than with Facebook Places or foursquare — but you can do just about everything else.

buuteeq for Facebook enables hotels to offer potential guests views of rooms, photos, maps, and the ability to make reservations directly via the hotels' Facebook pages.

The app allows hotel owners and managers to provide the following information and features directly on their Facebook brand pages:

  • Room photos, descriptions, and amenities;
  • Maps, nearby points of interest, and detailed directions;
  • Photo galleries featuring rooms, the property, and surrounding views; and
  • Direct access by travelers via Facebook to the hotels' booking engines.

In addition to the app, which is available to hotels free-of-charge, buuteeq also offers its subscription-based Digital Marketing System, which enables them to spread reservations and marketing via the Web, mobile devices, and social media.

CEO Forest Key said:

With more than 750 million users worldwide, Facebook is a critical channel for marketing, and hotels recognize this, but they're not yet using Facebook to find and convert guests. Many guests come across a hotel first on Facebook, and a hotel-like experience is the first thing they should see. The buuteeq free Facebook App for Hotels takes the best of the Web experience and meshes it with Facebook to create a true conversion tool for independent hotels.

Readers: Would the ability to view all of the information mentioned above and book rooms directly via Facebook influence your travel decisions?
