Late yesterday, Microsoft shot out a press release declaring 2.5 million in unit sales for the Kinect motion controller. This morning, Sony said it shipped 4.1 million PlayStation Moves.

There's really not much else to say besides:

Remember, however, that Microsoft wants to sell 5 million Kinects before the end of 2010. Sure, they sold 1 million in 10 days -- but another 2.5 million in 31? That seems like a stretch. Also, to be completely fair, the PlayStation Move had a head start worldwide and requires people to buy more than one controller per console.

Correction: An earlier version of this story incorrectly listed the Move units as sold, not shipped.
