After processing the final sales results in the 2010 NPD report, we wanted to see how the fans think this year's titles will fare against the perennial sales champions.
Yesterday, the NPD Group presented the final sales figures for 2010, including a list of the top-selling IPs for the entire year. Not surprisingly, the list was topped by two familiar franchises. With that in mind, we posed the following question to our 24,000-plus Twitter followers:

A few of our respondents chimed in with predictions for 2011. Given the fact that most of the titles have seen success in the past, we're inclined to agree:

While much of 2011's sales charts will be filled with familiar faces from the likes of Activision and EA, the diversity of game sales platforms and the emergence of new developers and publishers should create a more even playing ground. The same old games may be at the top of the charts, but the list will be expanding to include many more names in 2011.
