The Facebook application designed for Android phones now includes Deals, the service offering limited-time discounts that can target users based on their physical location.

Details about the Android version of Deals remain scant at this point; even the official page for the application has only a minimum amount of information. Assuming it works like the version for the iPhone,  checking in to Places on the device would prompt Facebook to suggest nearby discounts that remain valid for a limited time.

Now I happen to carry a Blackberry — which still doesn’t have Deals — but have posted a status update on Facebook asking friends who carry ‘Droids in different parts of the U.S. to let me know whether they’ve been able to access the new feature on their mobile phones yet. And now I’d like to ask all of our readers who have this type of device to do the same.

Readers with Android phones, have you been able to access any Deals yet, and if so, what do you think? Those of you who don’t own ‘Droids but know people who do, have you heard from them about whether they can access the new feature on their mobile devices?
