Applications LogoEarlier this week we noticed a major shift in our Facebook application leaderboard, most significantly Zynga’s TexasHoldEm Poker had taken over the top spot of the leaderboard, surpassing the reigning FarmVille. The data is inaccurate though according to Facebook. Apparently something went wrong with their tracking system and they are working on a fix for the problem.

Typically we’d post about the fastest growing applications, however the stats have been off for at least a couple days. A Facebook spokesperson told us, “This is related to a reporting bug, which we’re working on fixing.” It’s definitely a pain, however it’s not exactly a new problem. Facebook has run into numerous reporting issues in the past. For developers who have building on the Platform for the past few years the issue should not come as a surprise.

I’m sure the issue will be resolved in the near future. However if you are looking for our weekly application stats, we aren’t going to be able to show them unfortunately. I’m sure by next week things will be back to normal however and we’ll be able to get you accurate data!
