Dead Island's PC "dev version" accidentally released with quite a few bugs and problems, but the gameplay footage is still pretty damn funny.

As many PC gamers found out today, the PC version of Dead Island available via Steam wasn't the final retail release, but a glitch-ridden developer's code that allows players to fly, causes characters to pass through objects, or simply just crashes the game on start-up.

Dead Island's official Facebook page has the following statement posted:

"We deeply regret that an incorrect version of Dead Island was inadvertently made available to players on Steam launch in North America. "We are very sorry for any issues you may have experienced while playing the game - the correct, patched version will be made available to North American players ASAP. "Other territories are not affected by this situation, the fully patched game will be available on Friday as announced."

Of course, some users are having fun with the debug version of the game and posting it on YouTube. Not only do the player animations look absolutely ridiculous, but the entire island can be seen with the right key strokes. It may have been unintentional, but developer Techland and publisher Deep Silver definitely raised the viral profile of their game a few notches.
