Although Namco Bandai was likely looking to announce some Soul Calibur 5 fighters at Comic-Con 2011, an Internet leak has confirmed the return of Ivy, plus two new characters.
Three Soul Calibur V characters have been leaked to the Internet, confirming the return of Ivy and two new characters.
Hit the jump to take a closer look and check out high-resolution images of the three characters here: Ivy (in-game), Ivy (artwork), Natsu (in-game), Zwei (in-game), and Zwei (artwork).
According to the leaks, these characters were meant to be revealed by Namco Bandai as a Comic-Con 2011 announcement, but the cat's out of the bag a little earlier than planned. While Ivy's return was a safe bet, new character Natsu seems to be a replacement for Taki, while "Zwei" seems to be an all-new character without any relation to the Soul Calibur cast. And doesn't this game take place 17 years into the future? So why does Ivy still look so young? Curious.
New Soul Calibur V screenshots were set to debut at Comic-Con this week as a part of some exclusivity agreement, but that didn't quite work out. Instead, the new screenshots have been leaked all over the Internet.
Several images show us Pyrrah facing off against Natsu, Taki's recently revealed disciple. So that pretty much explains why the blonde looks like a mini-Taki doused in pink. Other screenshots confirm that Ivy will appear in Soul Calibur V, and she is looking lovely as ever.
Going along with what Soul Calibur V Director Daishi Odashima's sentiments on unreasonably risqu attire, this busty whip-wielding Soul staple returns in something much more substantial than purple straps. Yes, she actually has clothes on now. Oh, quit crying. They're still sexy.
Another major reveal in this batch of screenshots is newcomer Zwei, who happens to be the other silhouette originally teased alongside Natsu. His weapon looks... surprisingly tiny, compared to his stature, and he is apparently a fan of '80s fashion.
