San Francisco is plastered in ads for Homefront, THQ's upcoming near-future shooter featuring a "what if" scenario about North Korea invading the United States. The posters are on bus stops, billboards, and kiosks. Oh, and in San Francisco Bay, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. Wednesday afternoon, balloons were released during a publicity event for the game. The balloons bore an ad promoting an exclusive Homefront offer from GameStop. But winds and rain pushed the balloons from downtown to the bay, a little more than a mile to the east, drawing complaints from environmentalist groups. THQ later said that the balloons "were made from a 100 percent organic product and are 100 percent biodegradable," but the story also reports that THQ hired a cleanup crew to take care of "potential lingering debris."
