A 22-year-old New York woman was allegedly stabbed to death because of a fight that started on Facebook over $20.

Kamisha Richards (pictured left) was allegedly attacked Monday by her boyfriend’s sister, Kayla Henriques (pictured right) in the Brooklyn housing project where they both lived.

Richards allegedly lent Henriques $20 to buy diapers for her 11-month-old son, but became angry after learning the money was spent on items not for the baby, according to the New York Daily News.

The fight started over the weekend on Facebook when the two women exchanged some heated words. The newspaper said Richards posted Sunday night:

Kayla now u getin outa hand…I hope u having fun entertaining the world…Trust, IMA HAVE THE LAST LAUGH!!!

Kayla Henriques replied on Facebook, “We will see.” A relative of Henriques told the newspaper she acted in self-defense, saying:

She said she didn’t mean to do it… They were arguing. Kamisha tried to stab her with scissors, and it was self-defense. She said that she came at her and she had to do it. She was sorry. That’s all she kept saying, that it wasn’t supposed to be like this.

Richards worked security for JPMorgan Chase and hoped to apply to law school in the fall. She was rushed to the hospital with stab wounds in her chest, but died a short time later.

Henriques was arrested after confessing to the attack, according to the article.

Do you think the social media site actually played a significant role in the murder?
