Top user-content creators have reportedly pulled in over $200,000 for creating the most popular new items in Team Fortress 2. With so many games depending on the creativity of its users, we polled our Twitter community to see which games should share profits with creative users.
After we passed along news from Gamasutra regarding the profits being reaped by Team Fortress 2's content creators, we posed the following question to our Twitter faithful:

One game seemed to bear mention more than others. Considering the amount of creativity that has flowed forth and microtransactions that have sprung forth in the form of company-created costumes, we're surprised that fans haven't been cut into the profit pipeline. Here's the top-suggested title:
@GamePro The obvious answer would be taking donations for LittleBigPlanet level creators, I think. It makes sense, but don't mandate paying.less than a minute ago via Twitter for iPhoneJames Henderson

Another console title was the source of popular suggestions. This recent release has really taken the gloves off of users, allowing them to create some truly interesting content as of late. As of right now, the primary benefit has been to provide the users with more to play with, though the strong element of community that has long-pervaded the franchise may allow for change in the future. Here's the other oft-mentioned game:
@GamePro Halo: Reach definitely would benefit from people paying for the communities maps. There is some great stuff that can be made in 4geless than a minute ago via webNicholas Beaudoin

Culling user-created content isn't easy. Only the most popular franchises can command its consumers to create free content for it. However, it behooves both the developers and the gaming audience to make new content creation and consumption a viable venture for everyone. In most cases, no payment is necessary, though certain games could be made even greater by having truly creative and valuable user-made content treated as such.
What do you think of the suggestions above? Are there any other franchises you'd add? Please continue the conversation in the comment section below and by replying to GamePro on Twitter.
