With the conclusion of the Gears of War saga getting pushed towards the end of 2011, we polled GamePro's Twitter followers to find out how they plan to cope with a lack of Gears during the early parts of the year, and what they hope comes out of the delay.

Gears of War 3's epic delay from Spring 2011 to that year's final quarter brought two major questions to mind, which we posed to our almost-20,000 strong Twitter followers:

What are you hoping will come of Gears 3's delay? What games will fill the void? Sound off and we'll post the best answers.less than a minute ago via webGamePro

Surprisingly, few followers of GamePro mentioned any games that they think will step into Gears' early-year slot. The only game that seems to come within sniffing distance, it seems, is Marvel vs. Capcom 3, as this Tweeter pointed out:

@GamePro Gears is my game!!! I was really upset to see it delayed. Good thing they have more time to work on it though. At least I have MvC3less than a minute ago via Twitter for iPhoneDanny Perez

The rest of the replies focused on the need for Gears of War 3 to show greater improvement than the second game showed over the original, particularly when it comes to providing a polished game experience. While a few replies had features in mind, the prevailing mindset is that the game cannot fall into the same traps as Gears of War 2. Here's what the fans what to see in Gears 3:

@GamePro Hopefully there will be less game breaking glitches in the multiplayer of Gears 3.less than a minute ago via TweetDeckSteven Dougherty

@GamePro I hope for at least ten Gears 3 maps, WORKING multiplayer, destructible environments in campaign. Better physics.less than a minute ago via Twitter for iPhoneChristopher Majewski

@GamePro Gears's delay clearly has to do with QA. Played a demo earlier and it was great, but this makes sure it'll be bug free on launch.less than a minute ago via Twitter for iPhoneJames Henderson

@GamePro They don't want any instsnces like what happened with Reach, so it's precautionary more than anything else.less than a minute ago via Twitter for iPhoneJames Henderson

With Halo likely taking a bit of a breather, post-Reach, this delay makes it pretty clear that Gears of War 3 will be the Xbox's marquee title for 2011. Giving the game plenty more time in the oven will only lead to a stronger game than the already-impressive title shown over the past few months.

What do you think the Gears delay will mean for the game? Are there any other games you think will carry its load at the beginning of next year?
