Over a week ago Facebook began testing a slightly updated friends page which enables users to see their recent friends as well as outstanding requests. What’s strange about the page is that there is now two separate “friends” pages, both of which provide similar, yet slightly different functionality.
Facebook is continuously making improvements to the site, however I’m not quite sure whether or not this is a dramatic improvement. By visiting the edit friends page you can view which friends you recently interacted with as well as those that you recently became friends with (although that functionality appears to be broken currently). There’s also a requests page which displays all outstanding friend requests, something that the current “friends” tab on Facebook doesn’t display.
My assumption is that Facebook is testing this page and will eventually merge the two together as you can also can currently navigate to a separate friends page just by clicking on the “Friends” icon on the homepage. While not a massive upgrade, being able to view which friends you recently interacted with is definitely a useful feature. What are your thoughts about this new friends page?
