Ads Poll IconFacebook is constantly looking for ways to improve their advertising system. The company appears to now be surveying users to find out which ads they prefer. It may also be a test to see what percentage of users are actually paying attention to the advertisements.

Facebook currently has two primary ad feedback mechanisms: a link to “Like” the ad, and an “X” to remove the ad from the user’s rotation of advertisements. Of course clicking an ad also serves as direct feedback mechanism. Facebook may also be asking for feedback in order to determine which one gets higher placement. It’s interesting to see Facebook providing this form of feedback, as you’d imagine clicks would be the ultimate determinant.

While we’re not sure what Facebook is using the new feedback mechanism for (aside from testing new ways to determine what to display), it’s definitely an interesting addition. Have you seen this show up in your sidebar?

Thanks to Kien Lee of Senatus for the tip!
